CEMEX awarded Boscar for the Conservation of Forests in Mexico

On November 5th, in the framework of the annual Reforestamos Mexico event with the support of the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), the Faculty of Social Responsibility of the Anahuac University (CLARES) and the Finance for Biodiversity Initiative (BIOFIN) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the “2nd Boscars Awards”, an event that recognizes companies that are socially responsible and committed to the forests and rainforests of the country, was celebrated.

“The Boscars” is an initiative of Reforestamos Mexico, backed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR) and the Faculty of Social Responsibility of the Anahuac University (CLARES), which helps to position the forests conservation agenda in the private sector of the country, and motivate companies that already carry out positive tasks in the field of forests to be more proactive in communicating their results and experiences in order to promote transparency and collaboration with other actors.

During the 2nd Boscars Awards, CEMEX was nominated in the following categories:

  • Forest Conservation
  • Forest Entrepreneurship Boosting
  • Forest Culture Promotion
